Abstract

Tuberculosis is a contagious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis, primarily affecting the lungs. Tuberculosis still poses a serious public health problem. In 2024, tuberculosis remains a significant global health burden, with 10.7 million people worldwide falling ill due to tuberculosis, at an incidence rate of about 131 cases per 100,000 population. Indonesia is one of the countries in Asia with a high number of tuberculosis cases. The method of providing education/counseling in the working area of the Salimpaung Health Center, Tanah Datar Regency, in this activity, was conducted through education and demonstration, carried out on Monday and Tuesday, October 13–14, 2025, for the community participating in the counseling/education, amounting to 45 people. It is hoped that after receiving the counseling/education and demonstration on tuberculosis prevention efforts, there will be an increase in knowledge and understanding, as well as the ability to undertake tuberculosis prevention measures.
