An inappropriate weight status can increase the risk of complications such as anemia, chronic energy deficiency (CED), low birth weight (LBW), premature delivery, and increase the morbidity and mortality rates of both mothers and babies. The aim of this study is to analyze the determinants of actual body weight status in pregnant women. This research is a quantitative study with an analytical observational design using a cross-sectional approach. This research was conducted at the Independent Midwife Practice (BPM) in Padang Panjang City from July to December 2025. The population of this study consists of postpartum mothers at BPM Kota Padang Panjang, totaling 68 individuals, using total sampling. The sample size in this study is 68 respondents using the total sampling technique. The data analysis used was univariate, bivariate with chi-square test, and multivariate with multiple logistic regression test. The research results show that there is no relationship between age and the actual weight status of pregnant women (p-value > 0.05), whereas education, parity, and level of knowledge have a significant relationship with actual weight status (p-value < 0.05). The multivariate results indicate that the variable most influential on the actual weight status of pregnant women is the level of knowledge (OR = 5.214). Pregnant women are expected to be more active in seeking information related to pregnancy nutrition and to regularly undergo ANC check-ups. They are also advised to manage their diet according to the nutritional needs of pregnancy and to monitor weight gain periodically to remain within the normal category
