Publication Ethics

Business and Technology Journal (BTJ) is committed to upholding the standards of scientific publication ethics throughout every stage of the publishing process. All parties involved in the publication (authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher) must adhere to the following principles of academic ethics:

Authors’ Responsibilities

1. Originality: Authors must guarantee that the manuscript is an original work, has not been previously published, and is not under consideration by another journal.
2. Plagiarism: All forms of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, are prohibited. Every manuscript will be screened using plagiarism detection software (Turnitin).
3. Citations and References: Authors must cite sources accurately and in accordance with the applicable citation format.
4. Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflict of interest that may influence the research results or the interpretation of data.
5. Co-Authorship: Only individuals who have made a significant contribution to the research may be listed as authors.
6. Manuscript Revision: Authors are obliged to carry out revisions according to feedback from the editor or reviewers within the specified timeframe.

Reviewers’ Responsibilities

1. Objectivity: Reviewers must assess manuscripts objectively and transparently, and provide constructive comments.
2. Confidentiality: All manuscripts received for review are confidential documents and must not be distributed or misused.
3. Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must decline to conduct a review if there is a conflict of interest with the authors or the manuscript content.
4. Timeliness: Reviewers are expected to complete their review within the deadline determined by the editor.

Editors’ Responsibilities

1. Publication Decisions: The editor is responsible for the final publication decision based on the review results and editorial policies.
2. Fairness and Neutrality: Editorial decisions are made without discrimination based on race, gender, affiliation, or ideological views.
3. Integrity of the Review Process: The editor guarantees that the review process is conducted double-blind, fairly, and free from bias.
4. Ethics Handling: The editor must follow up on any suspected violations of research or publication ethics in accordance with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) procedures.
