PENGARUH PEMBERIAN BISKUIT DAUN KATUK TERHADAP PRODUKSI ASI PADA IBU MENYUSUI DI PUSKESMAS LUBUK TAROK KABUPATEN SIJUNJUNG

Based on the 2019 data from the World Health Organization (WHO), the global coverage of exclusive
breastfeeding is only 36%, falling below the WHO's target of 50% to reduce infant morbidity and mortality.
To promote infant health, UNICEF and WHO recommend exclusive breastfeeding for at least 6 months,
with continued breastfeeding until the child reaches two years of age. The objective of this study was to
determine the differences in breast milk production before and after providing katuk leaf biscuits to
breastfeeding mothers at the Lubuk Tarok Health Center, Sijunjung Regency in 2023. This research adopts
a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The study focuses on
breastfeeding mothers at the Lubuk Tarok Health Center, Sijunjung Regency. To analyze the differences in
breast milk production before and after providing katuk leaf biscuits to nursing mothers, a T-test was
performed at a 95% confidence level. The results revealed that the average breast milk production in
breastfeeding mothers before administering katuk leaf biscuits was 39.67, while after administration, it
increased to 72.00. The calculated p-value of 0.000 indicates that the consumption of katuk leaf biscuits
has a significant effect on milk production in breastfeeding mothers. In conclusion, the consumption of
katuk leaf biscuits led to increased breast milk production in breastfeeding mothers. The study emphasizes
the importance of husbands and families providing motivation and support to breastfeeding mothers,
including the preparation or provision of katuk leaf biscuits at home to ensure smooth breast milk
production
