Abstract

Modern lifestyle changes, characterized by excessive consumption of fast food and sugary drinks, accelerate the onset of insulin resistance from adolescence. One effective way to detect the early risk of diabetes is thru an HbA1c (glycated hemoglobin) test. The purpose of this activity is to provide education on healthy lifestyles and HbA1c testing for early detection of diabetes risk. This community service activity was held at the Bung Hatta Palace in Bukittinggi City. This activity will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, targeting adolescents. The results of the activity, which included health lifestyle counselling and HbA1c testing, effectively increased adolescents' knowledge about the risks of diabetes and the importance of early prevention. Teenagers are becoming more aware of the importance of a balanced diet, physical activity, and regular health checkups in preventing diabetes. HbA1c testing can be used as an early detection tool for diabetes risk in adolescents, allowing for faster preventive interventions
