HUBUNGAN PEMBERIAN ASI EKSKLUSIF DENGAN KEJADIAN DIARE TERHADAP BALITA USIA 7-59 BULAN DI DESA PEKONDOH KECAMATAN WAY LIMA KABUPATEN PESAWARAN

WHO recommends that newborns be exclusively breastfed for 6 months. In developing countries, infants who are not exclusively breastfed at 0-5 months and not breastfed at 6-23 months may increase the risk of morbidity and mortality due to diarrhea. Diarrhea cases found in Indonesia in 2021 reached 3,690,984 toddlers. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers aged 7-59 months in Pekondoh Village, Way Lima District, Pesawaran Regency. The type of research used is quantitative research with correlational analytics with a cross-sectional approach with a proportional random sampling technique for toddlers in Pekondoh Village, Way Lima District, Pesawaran Regency. The population in this study was 126 toddlers with a sample of 56 toddlers. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test. The results showed that there was a relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of diarrhea in Pekondoh Village, Way Lima District, Pesawaran Regency, obtained a value of ? value = 0.000. It is recommended that health workers in Pekondoh village improve again in providing counseling on the importance of exclusive breastfeeding to the community, especially to mothers of toddlers in Pekondoh village.
