Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) is a simple method for early detection of cervical cancer.
Madukoro Health Center UPTD has a low participation rate of VIA examination (2.56%), with
Sawojajar Village reaching 0.8%. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge
and attitudes towards VIA examination in Fertile Age Couples (PUS) in the working area of Madukoro
Health Center UPTD, North Lampung. The study used a quantitative design with a Cross Sectional
approach. The population consisted of two groups: group A (PUS in Sawojajar Village, 721 people)
and group B (PUS who had undergone VIA, 124 people). The sample was calculated using the Slovin
method: 88 people from group A and 55 people from group B. Bivariate analysis using the Chi Square
Test showed a p-value of 0.000 (p <0.005), indicating that there is a relationship between knowledge
and attitudes towards VIA examination. It is known that the RP value of knowledge is 4.975 with CI =
2.025-12.222 and the RP of attitude is 10.746 with CI = 4.169-27.698, indicating that knowledge has a
4.975-fold influence and attitude has a 10.746-fold influence on IVA examination. These results suggest
the need for increased information media and cross-sectoral support to increase awareness of the
importance of IVA examination
