alaria is an infectious disease that has high morbidity rates throughout the world and is the third
largest cause of death globally. In Indonesia, malaria is a serious public health problem, especially for
vulnerable groups such as babies, toddlers and pregnant women. Based on the 2020 West Sumatra
Health Profile, 16 districts/cities have succeeded in achieving malaria elimination, while the Mentawai
Islands District has not achieved the target with an API (Annual Parasite Incidence) of 3 per 1000
population. Until the end of January 2022, data shows that of the 15 Community Health Centers, Sioban
Community Health Center recorded the highest number of cases with a total of 228 cases. This study aims
to analyze the relationship between house conditions, breeding places, behavior in using mosquito nets,
habits of going out at night, use of mosquito repellent, and the presence of livestock pens on the incidence
of malaria. The results of the study showed that there was a relationship between preventive behavior,
housing conditions, and the presence of livestock pens and the incidence of malaria, while breeding
places were not related to the incidence of malaria.
