ISPA is one of many global health problems, especially in developing countries and is the cause of almost
20% of under-five deaths throughout the world. The prevalence of ISPA in Papua in 2018 reached 14.5%.
The Elly Uyo Community Health Center had 2,852 ISPA cases and was in first place with the most diseases
at the Elly Uyo Community Health Center. The high number of ISPA cases can be caused by mothers' low
knowledge about ISPA. The aim of the research is to analyze the effect of providing health education using
the lecture method and leaflet media on the knowledge of mothers of toddlers with ISPA at the Elly Uyo
Community Health Center. The high number of ISPA cases can be caused by mothers' low knowledge about
ISPA. Appropriate counseling methods can be developed to help increase mothers' knowledge about ISPA.
The research method is descriptive quantitative with a quasi-experimental pre and post test design. The
sampling technique used stratified random sampling, totaling 48 respondents at Posyandu Tunas and
Maranatha. The results of the Wilcoxon test analysis in the intervention group, there was an increase in
the knowledge of mothers of toddlers about ISPA through the lecture method and leaflet media at Posyandu
Tunas (p-value 0,001). Using the lecture method with the help of leaflet media can increase mothers'
knowledge about ISPA.
