HUBUNGAN KONTRASEPSI HORMONAL TERHADAP SIKLUS MENSTRUASI PADA AKSEPTOR KB DI KELURAHAN KALUMBUK WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS KURANJI PADANG

Efforts made to accelerate the reduction in maternal mortality are through family planning services. A
crucial aspect of this is understanding the potential side effects of hormonal contraception, such as its
impact on menstrual patterns. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between hormonal
contraception and the menstrual cycle in birth control acceptors in Kalumbuk Village, Kuranji Padang
Health Center Working Area, a topic of utmost importance in the field of reproductive health. This research
is quantitative and uses a cross-sectional study approach. The population of this study were all hormonal
birth control acceptors in Kalumbuk Village, totaling 980 people. Proportional Random sampling
technique. The total sample was 94 respondents, 14 implant birth control acceptors and 80 injectable family
planning acceptors consisting of 30 1-month family planning injections and 50 3-month family planning
injections. Data analysis used Chi-Square with a significance value of 95%. The research results, which
are of significant importance to our understanding of reproductive health, showed that most respondents'
menstrual cycles were irregular, namely 66 people (70.2%), and the minority respondents' menstrual cycles
were irregular, namely 28 people (29.8%). The statistical test results obtained a p value = 0.001, indicating
a significant relationship between Hormonal Conservation and the acceptor menstrual cycle in the working
area of the Kuranji Padang Public Health Center in 2023. In conclusion, there is a significant relationship
between Hormonal Conservation and the acceptor's menstrual cycle in 2023. It is recommended that health
workers provide health education related to the side effects of hormonal contraceptives.
