Abstract

Puskesmas Batu Hampar is a health center located in Lima Puluh Kota Regency that implements a
Pregnant Women’s Class as part of its Maternal and Child Health (KIA) program. According to data
from Puskesmas Batu Hampar in 2023, the achievement of the Pregnant Women’s Class program was
30.42% of the 100% target, leading to health issues among pregnant women, with anemia being the most
prevalent condition. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the Pregnant Women’s Class
program at UPTD Puskesmas Batu Hampar, Akabiluru District, in 2024. This research employs a
qualitative method with a phenomenological approach involving 11 informants. Data collection
techniques included in-depth interviews, document review, and observation. Data was processed through
data reduction, data display, and data verification. The findings indicate that the implementation of the
Pregnant Women’s Class Program for anemia prevention at Puskesmas Batu Hampar in 2024 is not yet
effective. The issues include insufficient human resources for the program, inadequate facilities and
infrastructure, suboptimal socialization efforts, and low participation from pregnant women, especially
those who are working. It can be concluded that while the Pregnant Women’s Class program at
Puskesmas Batu Hampar has been operational, it has not been effective due to challenges such as low
participation from pregnant women, particularly working women. It is recommended that the program
enhance both the quality and quantity of its activities and provide additional resources such as mats and
educational media for each Pregnant Women’s Class.
