Abstract

Stunting is a condition of failure to thrive in children under five which is a prob
llem
l with the
nutritional status of children as a result of chronic malnutrision so that children are too short for
their age. One of the factors causing stunting is the inappropriate provision of com
lplem
lentary b
lreast
m
lilk (M
LP-ASI) to blablies and toddlers. The aim
l of the research was to determ
line the relationship
bletween giving com
lplem
lentary blreast m
lilk (M
LP-ASI) and the incidence of stunting in West Pasam
lan
Regency. The research m
lethod in this research is quantitative analytical ob
lservational, with a cross
sectional research design. The population in this study were all m
lothers of toddlers in West Pasam
lan
Regency with a total of 6,143 toddlers. Sam
lpling used purposive sam
lpling with a total sam
lple of 106
respondents. The research results showed that of the 106 respondents, 4 (16.0%) were in the case
group and 32 (40%) in the control group and the m
lajority, nam
lely 61 (57.5%) provided M
LPASI on
tim
le. The results of the statistical analysis showed a p-value of 0.001, m
leaning that there was a
relationship bletween giving M
LPASI and the incidence of stunting. The conclusion of this research is
that giving M
LPASI at the right tim
le is related to the incidence of editing and it is hoped that all
m
lothers of b
lab
lies and toddlers will give M
LPASI appropriately to their b
lablies.
