FAKTOR – FAKTOR YANG BERHUBUNGAN DENGAN KEJADIAN DIARE PADA BAYI DAN BALITA DI PMB DINY NAHRUDIANI DI DESA KARACAK KECAMATAN LEUWILIANG KABUPATEN BOGOR

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), diarrheal diseases are the second leading cause of
death in children under five, killing approximately 525,000 children each year. Diarrhea is one of the
causes of high infant mortality in Indonesia. Basic research in 2018 found that the prevalence of diarrhea
in all age groups was 8%, 12.3% in young children, and 10.6% in infants. Objective: The objective of this
study is to identify factors associated with the occurrence of diarrhea in infants and young children.
Methods: This study was designed using a cross-sectional research design approach. The population and
sample were mothers of infants and young children and a total of 187 respondents were sampled using
random sampling method in this study. Data collection technique using questionnaire with chi-square data
analysis. Results: Using chi-square tests, the study shows that there is an association between maternal
education. (p-value = 0.028<0.05), and Nutritional Status (p-value = 0.009<0.05) with the incidence of
Diarrhea in Infants and Toddlers at PMB Diny Nahrudiani, SKM, STr.Keb. Conclusion: There is a
relationship between the incidence of diarrhea with age, exclusive breastfeeding, formula milk, nutritional
status, education level, employment level, social and economic, clean and healthy lifestyle, clean water and
no relationship with sex.
