Nursing services are the primary activities performed by nurses in hospitals, conducted 24 hours a day,
requiring physical, mental, and time readiness. This continuous demand potentially leads to work fatigue,
reduced sleep time, and decreased sleep quality. This study aims to explain the relationship between sleep
quality and work fatigue among hospital nurses using a systematic literature review design with the
PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) method. Literature
sources were obtained from Google Scholar, Wiley, Taylor & Francis Online, and ScienceDirect for the
period 2017-2024. Keywords used included "Risk Factor" and "Sleep Quality" OR "Sleepiness" and
"Work Fatigue" and "Nurse at Hospital". Out of the 17,179 articles found, only 9 met the criteria after an
elimination process based on the research topic, duplication checks, and full accessibility. The analysis
results indicate a relationship between sleep quality and work fatigue. Factors such as work shifts,
particularly night shifts, and workload influence fatigue and sleep quality. Poor sleep quality causes
sleepiness, reducing alertness, and increasing the risk of errors or work-related accidents. Proper
management of work and rest times can improve sleep quality and reduce work fatigue levels.
