The toddler period is a crucial phase in a child’s growth and development, which is highly influenced by adequate and balanced nutritional intake. However, the high prevalence of stunting in several regions, including Agam Regency, West Sumatra, indicates a lack of public understanding about the importance of providing healthy food for toddlers. This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge and awareness of the community, especially mothers, about the importance of balanced nutrition through nutrition education and counseling. The activity was conducted on June 15, 2025, at the Wali Nagari Office in Tilatang Kamang, using counseling and outreach methods with leaflet media for 15 participants. The results showed that 12 out of 15 participants experienced an immediate increase in knowledge after the counseling session, while 3 participants had yet to demonstrate optimal understanding. The material provided covered the principles of balanced nutrition, the importance of exclusive breastfeeding and appropriate complementary feeding (MPASI), as well as the utilization of locally available food sources. This education not only delivered information but also encouraged behavioral change and empowered mothers as managers of family nutrition. These
findings align with previous studies indicating that education-based nutritional interventions can prevent stunting and other nutritional disorders. This activity is expected to be a tangible step toward reducing the prevalence of stunting and establishing healthy eating patterns from an early age at the family level
